AERIAL RESCUE WORKSHOP

COURSE OUTLINE:

1) Equipment Check.
2) Scenario Run Through.
3) Rescue Methods.
4) Safe Tree Entry.
5) Safe Decent with Victim.
6) Practice Live Rescues.



Come out and have you rescue skills critiqued and improved while also earning 8 CEU's


INSTRUCTOR: Robert A. Romeril


Rob has been climbing and operated a tree company in Calgary for 26 years. He set up and taught the Alberta Vocational College. Arborist Program for 5 years. He is a previous Prairie Chapter Jamboree Champion. He has also taught at Mount Royal University, University of Calgary, University of Saskatchewan, and Olds College. Rob is a graduate Forest Technician from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Ontario, a Certified Landscape Gardener and also I.S.A. Certified Arborist.


WHAT TO BRING:
  1. - Personal Safety Equipment. 

  2. - All climbing gear. 

  3. - Dressed for work.


All Participants must be covered by workers Compensation, either through their company of individual coverage.

*Aerial Rescue is both a physically demanding and rewarding experience. You must be an experienced tree climber to participate in this workshop.*



Beginner Tree Climbing Workshop


Date and Location: TBD 

8:00 am - 5:00 pm - Maximum 10 people 


Course Outline:


1) Equipment check and use                           

2) Knot tying for Rigging
3) Various safe tree entries
4) Tree hazard check
5) Use of Safety Lanyards for Security while cutting
6) Upper canopy tie in points for pulleys and rigging lines
7) Installing a rope runner friction saver
8) Learn to lower limbs safely to the ground


Come out and have your rigging methods critiqued and improved, while also earning 8 CFU's.



Instructor: Robert A. Romeril


Rob has been climbing and operated a tree company in Calgary for 26 years. He set up and taught the Alberta Vocation College Arborist Program for 5 years. He is a previous Prairie Chapter Jamboree Champion. Teaching is one of Roberts expertise and he has taught at Mount Royal University, the University of Calgary, University of Saskatchewan, and Olds College. Rob has also graduated as a Forest Technician from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Ontario Canada. In addition, he is also a certified Landscape Gardener and a I.S.A. Certified Arborist. 


WHAT TO BRING:

  1. - Personal Safety equipment, Slings, pulleys, Hand Saws

  2. - All climbing gear (various saddles and some gear will be available)

  3. - Dressed appropriately for work and weather


Participants must be covered by workers compensation, either through their company or individual coverage. 



BEGINNER TREE CLIMBING WORKSHOP

Date & Location: TBD
8:00 am. - 5:00 pm. 
Maximum - 10 people

COURSE OUTLINE:

1) Equipment Check and use.

2) Knot Tying and Use.
3) Various Safe Tree Entries.
4) Tree Hazard Check.
5) Moving up the Tree Canopy.
6) Rope and Lanyard Positioning.
7) Install and use a Friction Saver.
8) Retrieval of Rope.


Come out and have your rigging methods critiqued and improved while also earning 8 CFU's
